Welcome to Brimm104: Marketing and Presentation


This course focuses on powerful economic pitches tailored for the mining industry. Students will refine their ability to produce impactful safety shares, customize pitches for diverse stakeholders, and strategically analyze content for maximum effectiveness. The course emphasizes the strategic utilization of information, prioritizing key economic drivers critical for successful proposals, and enhancing communication skills tailored for executive-level proposals.

 

Through practical exercises, participants will elevate their proficiency in crafting clear, persuasive written memos and presentations. Additionally, students will acquire practical skills in designing impactful templates and slides, leveraging advanced formatting and data visualization techniques. This immersive course ensures mining professionals acquire the essential strategic competencies needed for success in high-stakes mining exploration and processing proposals at the executive level.

Learning Outcomes

After completing this course, the participants will be able to: 

  • Define a thesis statement for an economic pitch
  • Discuss what is needed and who is the target audience
  • Be able to critically analyze a pitch for holes by applying a checklist
  • Define who the audience is
  • Apply a checklist to any economic pitch
  • Template slides and hack core slides

Sessions

All sessions take place at 5:00 am - 6:30 am and 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm (PDT)

  • Session 1: Define what makes a solid economic pitch
  • Session 2: Exploration Economics
  • Session 3: Exploration/ Brownfield Upgrade Sales (students present)
  • Session 4: The Stages of a Sale (students present)
  • Session 5: Writing a Memo or Presentation to Sell (students present)
  • Session 6: Final Presentations
