Full course description

This course is part of the UBC Micro-certificate in Environmental Metrics for Sustainability Reporting. The course will help learners develop a more comprehensive understanding of sustainability reporting and environmental decision-making processes. Among the skills students will obtain after successfully completing the course are:

·        Develop a comprehensive understanding of the key concepts, methodologies, and tools to analyze sustainability issues and communicate their importance to stakeholders.

·        Demonstrate how businesses integrate ESG principles into operations, strategies, and decision-making to drive sustainable outcomes.

·        Assess the potential opportunities and risks presented by climate change and assess its implications for businesses, the environment, and society.

·        Identify environmental metrics categories to gather accurate and relevant data with a particular focus on greenhouse gas emissions and food waste across various stages of the supply chain.
