Course 2: Data Gathering and Management for GHG Emissions and Food Waste Spring 2024

This course is part of the UBC Micro-certificate in Environmental Metrics for Sustainability Reporting. This course will provide learners the tools to develop GHG and Food Loss and Waste inventories.

Among the skills students will obtain after successfully completing the course are:

·        Gain a deep understanding of greenhouse gas emissions, including their sources, calculation methodologies, and significance within various industries.

·        Acquire practical skills to gather, organize, and manage sustainability-related data, enabling informed decision-making and accurate reporting.

·        Define the complexities of food waste along the supply chain, discovering ways to track, analyze, and minimize waste generation at every stage.

·        Develop data analytics skills to make informed decisions that drive sustainability, and help track and set appropriate targets.
