Accredited for 1.5 CEU. This course seeks to provide an overview of the history behind the medicalization of gender and sexuality. In a video presentation, Dr. Logan Smilges goes through the sexological and psychoanalytic era that pathologized gender and sexual minorities, and the current depathological era and its societal implications. This presentation is followed by an activity which applies this information to address common identity-based conversations in the classroom.
